Bobo Wobbles His Way Into Your Heart
|
When ARF rescued Bobo — a 5-week-old Chihuahua puppy — from a California municipal shelter, he weighed less than two pounds. But there was more to him than just his tiny stature. Bobo listed back and forth in his bed, wobbled with every step, and was constantly falling over while playing: all signs of cerebellar hypoplasia.
More common in cats than dogs, animals born with cerebellar hypoplasia display tremors, jerky movements, and have difficulty controlling their motion. This non-progressive, painless, and non-contagious condition doesn’t limit Bobo’s health or ability to be a loving pet. But those who don’t understand the condition might not give a dog like Bobo the chance to find his perfect home. Read more...

Happy Adopt a Shelter Dog Month
|
October is Adopt a Shelter Dog Month, and millions of dogs across the country are wagging their tails in hopes of finding forever homes. Here are a few of ARF's adoptable pups who are looking for love:
• Kirk (pictured) is our senior cuddlebug! This happy guy wants nothing more than to love and be loved in return. Plus, his adoption fee is sponsored by generous donor!
• Hubba Bubba has one thing on his mind ... belly rubs. This handsome chap is an expert snuggler, always finding a way to climb into your lap.
• Birdie thrives in the presence of doggy friends, who help her to be brave in this big world. Looking for a second dog? She is the one for you!
• Zoey-Sunshine may be 14 years old, but she still loves chasing toys and snuggling up for some petting. Bonus: her adoption fee is also sponsored!
We know the perfect home for each of these dogs is out there. Visit our website to view adoptable dogs or submit an adoption inquiry.
