Bringing Back Feldspar's Smile
2.21DentalSuite.jpg

Adorable poodle-mix Feldspar didn’t have much to smile about. When ARF rescued him from a public shelter, he needed major dental work. A severe overbite was causing painful damage to his teeth and roof of his mouth. Surgery was necessary to remove some of his lower teeth and repair affected areas of his incisive papilla. Emergency Medical Fund Continues Helping Those In Need
3.1EMF.jpg

March marks the 23rd anniversary of ARF's Emergency Medical Fund (EMF). In 1995, ARF volunteers Bev Greenbaum, Dorothy Bullard, Elvira Clark, Enid Schlichtman, and Dolores McCoskeyaffectionately known as the "EMF Ladies"began making and selling crafts to raise money for animal caregivers who couldn't afford veterinary care. Today, the EMF operates from proceeds of the ARF Thrift Store in Concord, CA and generous public support. EMF is part of ARF’s ongoing commitment to ensure animal caregivers never feel forced to choose between self-care and pet-care.
