Save a Life - Make Mom Proud

Happy Mother's DayShe was darling, sweet, and very, very pregnant. Lucy, a German Shepherd mix was found wondering the streets looking for a safe place to rest. Sadly, the public shelter was unable to care for an expectant mother requiring medical care and a quiet place. They called ARF asking if we had room for Lucy and what was expected to be a very large litter of puppies. Without hesitation, we said, “Yes!”

It’s no small feat to be a mother, much less to a litter of six or seven; around the clock care, bathing, feeding, and the effort to keep a close eye on small, precious lives. With the help of experienced foster families, ARF provides a temporary home, medical care, and food for homeless dogs and cats and their babies, until ready for adoption.

For Mother’s Day on May 13, honor all the women in your life with a special ARF e-card. They have comforted, inspired, challenged, and made us better people. With your gift in their honor, ARF can say “yes” when asked to help save more lives.

Lend a Paw to Animals in Need — Become an ARF Foster

FosterSpring is here, a season of renewal and the start of puppy and kitten season. ARF was able to save more than 700 animals last year thanks to our foster family program, and we are always in need of new foster homes.

We can't rescue young puppies and kittens unless fosters are able to take them into their homes. Fostering is a great opportunity to volunteer together as a family, to care for a cat, dog, kittens or puppies without the long-term commitment of adoption, and most importantly, fostering saves lives.

ARF handles the entire adoption process at our facility, so all YOU have to do is love and care for the foster animal for a set period of time, and we will take it from there!

Happy Tails: Scout

ScoutScout sent a dispatch from his new headquarters. He has successfully infiltrated a new family and is up to his tail in adventures every day. No more undercover work for him. Horses, cats, and his new dog partner Chessie B make up his new intelligence team, and his latest pursuits include swimming, kayaking, camping trips, and lots of rides in the truck, where he can stealthily check out his new surroundings. But he has not given up espionage altogether - he comes out of retirement every time there’s a ball that’s been reported missing in his yard! Read more adoption stories…
